Abstract

This research aims to determine the digital maturity levels of hospitals in Turkey with the purpose of enabling institutions to adapt easily to digital changes, and increasing their digital maturity levels. In the study, 6 main criteria and 16 sub-criteria developed for the evaluation of the digital maturity levels in the health sector were taken into account. In this study, DEMATEL method as one of multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) methodologies was used to evaluate the criteria set obtained. In the research, survey data of 10 decision-makers working in different hospitals and different departments in the health sector of Turkey were used. The results of the DEMATEL method were examined in detail and explained throughout the research. Considering the main criteria and their sub-criteria, the effect of the main criteria on each other was examined, and then the effects of the sub-criteria on each other were examined. Local weights of main and sub-criteria and their global weights were calculated. According to the results, the main criterion with the highest impact on the others was determined as Organization and Management. With the information derived as a result of the research, a website was created for each hospital in Turkey to provide easy access and a questionnaire was prepared to measure the digital maturity levels of hospitals. This test aims to allow the hospitals to make a self-assessment about their digital maturity level and to get some suggestions accordingly from the website. As a result of the research, it has been determined that the health sector in Turkey is open to digitalization and the investments to be made in this sense will increase the quality of health services. © 2022 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
