    A web-based audit platform for internal audit departments of banks

    The emergence of modern technology resulted in the broad usage of information systems in many business areas because of its advantages. The usage of web-based applications in almost every business area has increased with the availability of practical and quick solutions offered by information systems and the widespread use of the Internet. In this way, it became possible provide services to anybody at any time of a day in a costless and effortless way. In conjunction with these developments, the auditing profession is constantly improving by renewing itself. Besides, using the advantages of information systems promote a broad range of value-added internal auditing. However, when we look at the previous researches, we see that information systems in auditing are used generally to facilitate and assist the audit activity in specific areas. The purpose of this thesis is to develop a web-based audit platform (W-BAP) which can be used by auditors to perform control activities periodically. With our software, an auditor can generate an annual work plan, can save audit evidences as an attachment to working papers and share their findings with related departments. Thus the auditor will be able to operate a complete audit from beginning to end with this software. Using this software, it is possible for audit department of a bank to be compatible with the International Internal Audit Standards which is issued by The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). In the end, we test W-BAP using according to Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) for ease of use and usability.
