dc.description.abstractYeni üniversite anlayışı özellikle lisans düzeyinde disipliner derinliği azaltarak öğrencilere kendini geliştirme olanakları veren disiplinler arası bir anlayışı ön plana çıkarmaktadır. Öğrencinin birey olarak çok yönlü bir eğitimden geçmesi onların ileride toplumda üstlenecekleri rol ve bireysel gelişimleri açısından önemli görülmektedir. Yaratıcı düşünebilen, karar verme becerilerine sahip, sorunlara eleştirel ve çok yönlü bakabilen, duygu ve düşüncelerini iyi ve etkili ifade edebilen, anadilini etkili kullanabilen, en az bir yabancı dili temel düzeyde yazılı ve sözlü olarak kullanabilen birey tanımı böylesi bir program anlayışının temel gerekçelerinden biridir. Bu çalışmada üniversite kavramındaki gelişmeler ve yenilikler de temel alınarak, Türkiye'de Fen Edebiyat Fakülteleri'nin yeniden yapılandırılması konusunda bir öneri tartışılacaktır. Ülkemizde Fen ve Edebiyat Fakültesi mezunlarının yaygınlıkla yaşadıkları işsizlik sorunu üniversite düzeyinde onlara ikinci bir alanın temel bilgi ve becerilerini kazandırmak yoluyla en aza indirebilir. Gelişmiş ülkelerde üniversitelerin birçoğunda, Fen Edebiyat Fakülteleri öğrencilerinin ilk yıl ortak dersleri aldıkları, ilerleyen yıllarda ise danışmanlarıyla işbirliği içinde öğrencilerin kendi ders planlarını hazırladıkları görülmektedir. Bu yapıda program hazırlanırken, öğrencinin bireysel ilgi ve ihtiyaçları, mezuniyetten sonra iş bulmalarını kolaylaştırması, toplumun ve mesleğinin gerektirdiği temel bilgi ve becerileri kapsayacak şekilde düzenlenmesi göz önünde bulundurulmalıdır.
