Abstract
As tourism involves many social interactions of individuals, both as customers and service providers, with groups, a study of tourism and hospitality from the lens of social psychology is extremely important. As tourism and hospitality covers intense and continuous social contact and interaction, and especially increasingly in multicultural service environments, a study of personal and social factors is important for understanding human behavior in tourism and hospitality, both from the perspectives of customers and service providers. By analyzing aspects of psychology (personal characteristics such as gender and personality) and sociology (social characteristics such as culture) the chapter offers a framework for understanding behavior in tourism and hospitality. © 2022 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
