Abstract
The basic assumption of today's world is change. In this age of rapid change, organizations should strive to catch the agenda and developing their structures. Being ready for change and leading the change are vital conditions for the continuity of today's organizations. The speed of change in economic, social, cultural and technology draws attention to the importance of leadership in organizations. Leadership plays an important role in consciously initiating and accelerating this paradigm shift in organizations and helping to create a future-ready structure. Schools as an educational organization-like organizations in every field-are experiencing a rapid change like never before in history. A key challenge for a school leader in a rapidly changing world is the ability to analyze both the whole and its individual parts of the school and integrate this information to draw consistent conclusions. For this reason, an effective leader needs to catch the speed of change both in the thinking and decision-making processes, which points to the concept of agility. Being agile is important for leadership in this environment of change. Considering the effects of the rapid change experienced on the school's stakeholders and the education process, agile leadership in schools is an important issue in the literature. © 2023 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
