Abstract

This chapter includes a conversation we engaged in about the mentoring relationship which has transformed into a friendship and collegiality over the years through our collaborative work on critical autoethnography. In this dialogic and multivoiced writing, we illustrate our retro/intro/pro-spective thinking which has guided our autoethnographical reflection. We also share our experiences using critical autoethnographic narrative with our students who are language teachers or teacher candidates we worked with in Turkey and the USA. We present this dialogue which we constructed in an organic fashion without creating an outline initially. It is a snippet of our ongoing conversations around critical autoethnography. In that sense, it might be positioned as experimental which we would prefer to call transformative. © 2024 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
