Esophageal Cancer: A Comprehensive Overview

Abstract

Today, esophageal cancer (EC) is one of those diseases that can be detected early with the widespread use of endoscopy. Combinations of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgical treatment are used in the treatment. Depending on the plan devised for the surgery, operation is performed in two or three anatomical areas: the abdomen, thorax, and cervical region. Good preoperative evaluation and postoperative follow-up and treatment are extremely important.
