Virtual smart board

Abstract

Virtual Smart Board (VSB) is a smart board solution that requires only an off-the-shelf camera, VSB software, and a wireless pointing device. VSB does not require a special (i.e., touchsensitive) board unlike ordinary smart board solutions. VSB is, in fact, a computer vision system, which tracks the tip of the pointing device and treats it as a mouse (through the help of our special driver software). The pointing device has buttons that serve the purpose of mouse buttons. When our drawing software (or any other such software) is run, VSB allows the instructor to draw/write on any ordinary plain color (and smooth) wall/board/surface - provided a calibration procedure is followed before drawing starts. © 2010 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
