Abstract
İstanbul kent merkezinin ve iki ana alt merkez olan Silivri ve Pendik’in planları ve
ulaşıma göre ilişkisi incelenmiştir.
Çok merkezli şehirler kapsamında, seçilmiş dünya şehirleri çok merkezli gelişim
sürecinin etkisini göstermek için ulaşım gelişimiyle birlikte incelenmiştir.
İstanbul’un planlarda geçen mekânsal ve ulaşım karaları ile buna yönelik
politikaların çok merkezli yapıyı nasıl geliştirdiği ayrıntılı bir şekilde karşılaştırılarak
incelenmiştir.
Relationship between Istanbul city center’s and two major sub-center of Silivri and Pendik development along with the plans and transportation, was analysed. Within the context of poly-centric cities, selected world cities were examined to demonstrate hoe effectively the poly-centric development process has been combined with transportation improvements. Istanbul is examined in detailed to discuss about how spatial and transport policies have been included in these plans and how Istanbul has developed its poly-centric structure.
